Meet the team

Who are the people behind Celtic?

Together, the Celtic team blends decades of experience, scientific insight, operational excellence and integrity – qualities that have defined Celtic since its earliest days.

At the helm is Dermot Cox, our Managing Director, whose vision established Celtic in 2003 after recognising South Africa’s growing need for high-quality diagnostic kits. A Rhodes University graduate with a microbiology and diagnostics background, Dermot brings both technical understanding and a keen eye for developments in the field. Read his take on those developments here.

Working alongside him is Natalie, our General Manager, the focus puller. She's in charge of forward motion, making sure the big picture stuff translates. Her years in medical aid administration set the foundation for this role; she's the crucial link between sales and operations, knower of all things, a true generalist.

Jason Sutherland, our Sales Director, is the driving force behind every sales relationship and supplier connection. Overseeing international partners, guiding sales, Jason combines expertise with an innate efficiency and practicality.

The daily pulse of the company is coordinated by Reneé Palvie, Operations Director. Finance, freight logistics, internal operations, she keeps the engine running smoothly – she's the warm, steady presence in the team.

At the front line of the office is Faith Prince, our Office Administrator, who manages reception and ensures that day-to-day tasks, communications and customer interactions unfold without drama.

Supporting the wider team wherever she is needed is Annette Dyssel, who needs to be adaptable, hands-on and often lateral in her thinking; Celtic's day-to-day demands are many and often contradictory and a quick thinker is crucial for the smooth working of the unit.

On the research side, Kyle Warren, our Product Specialist, works closely with our research-focused clients, offering guidance and specialist product knowledge across their unique scientific needs.

Finally, ensuring accuracy for laboratories across the country is Henry Musanyera, our P-Squared Pipette Calibration Technician. Primarily Henry services and calibrates customers’ pipettes, but more than that he's the guy who lights up a room when he walks in, always ready for a chat and a laugh.

So, separately then we're constituent elements of Celtic Molecular Diagnostics. It's a happy reaction (rarely volatile), always effective. Together we are a great team, and we're looking forward to working with you in future.
