InviScreen® STEC Detection Kit provides a real-time PCR method for the qualitative detection of STEC E. coli in food samples. The method is based on ISO 13136 and detects the presence of the stx1 and stx2 genes (associated with cytotoxicity) and the eae gene which is associated with the capability of the bacteria to adhere to the intestinal epithelium and cause disease.
